Grants to USA and territories government agencies for programs to enhance the effectiveness of criminal evidence processing. Applicants are advised that required registrations may take several weeks to complete. Funding is intended to provide state and local government agencies with the tools they need to meet the challenges of crime and justice.
This program furthers the Department’s mission by providing states and units of local government with tools needed to meet the challenges of crime and justice. Specifically, this program seeks to improve forensic science and medical examiner/coroner services, including services provided by laboratories operated by states and units of local government. Funding is to be used for forensic science laboratories.
A state or unit of local government that receives a Coverdell grant must use the grant for one or more of the following six purposes/objectives:
