Grants of up to $5,000 to Colorado individuals artists, arts organizations, and groups in eligible areas for temporary or permanent public arts projects. Funding is intended to incorporate various forms of public art throughout the city with the goal of enhancing the image of Lafayette and reflecting the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community. The purpose of the grant is to have a positive impact on the quality of life in the community by fostering cooperation, advocacy, marketing, education, and stewardship of public art that will create public understanding of the social and economic value of art in the community.

LCAC works to develop Lafayette as a creative district with a unique cultural arts identity founded on the city’s rich history and progressing into the contemporary cultural climate. Its mission is to promote, nurture, and celebrate the visual, performing and language arts by connecting artists, building partnerships, and enhancing and supporting diversity. LCAC accomplishes it's mission by providing resources, building capacity, creating infrastructure, and promoting programming.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Lafayette’s Public Art Committee (PAC) invites applications from Lafayette artists, arts organizations, and groups. Artists and arts groups outside of Lafayette are also welcome to apply for a project in Lafayette.

Applicants or project coordinators must be USA citizens, 18 years or older.

Funds will not be provided for projects that have occurred before 2020, capital improvements, fundraising events, receptions, existing general operating budgets, salaries of employees for organizations, or reductions of deficits from past programs.

The deadline for grant applications is February 5, 2020.

- Call for Grants: December 5, 2019
- Deadline: February 5, 2020
- Subcommittee Receives and Reviews Grants: February 12-March 10, 2020
- PAC subcommittee presents recommendations to full Committee: March 11, 2020
- Applicants notified: March 23, 2020
- Funds Distribution: April 2020 (Checks will be distributed in April and should be received no later than May 1.)
- Grant projects may begin: May 1, 2020
- Grant projects end: December 1, 2020
- Final reports due: 30 days after project is completed
