Grants of up to $2,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations to increase and support the employment of individuals with Down syndrome. Eligible proposals are to expand or create educational programs that are for the benefit of individuals with Down syndrome. Applicants must be members of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation Self-Advocate Employment Initiative Grants are a benefit for Global members. The Grants help organizations hire new employees with Down syndrome or extend employment of existing employees with Down syndrome. The variety of jobs self-advocates will be performing include creating social media campaigns, making signing videos, presenting interactive awareness workshops at schools, performing and supporting administrative duties, and beyond.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

- Applicant must be a Global Down Syndrome Foundation member (to join or to learn more about memberships details and benefits, go to http://www.downsyndromeworld.org/)
- The proposal must be for a new educational program or a significant extension of an existing program; in both cases the educational program should have a clear and measurable impact that benefits people with Down syndrome
- Only organizations that are designated 501(c)(3) by the IRS can apply, or if located outside of the US, equivalent proof of nonprofit charitable government issued status

Pre-Application Information:

Proposals for the Grants are due by 5:00pm (MST) on Friday, January 17, 2020.

Applicants will be notified in March 2020.

Grants are awarded on an annual basis and there is no limit to consecutive funding.
