Grants to Pueblo County, Colorado nonprofit organizations to support senior services, mental health services, and programs serving school-aged children and youth. Projects must be consistent with the funding source’s mission to create measurable improvements in addressing unmet needs within the local community.

Applications are available for the following grant programs:

United Way Community Impact Grant:

Special grant funds made available by United Way of Pueblo County Board of Trustees to any nonprofit in Pueblo County to address the emerging programming need for school-aged youth on Fridays as Pueblo City Schools moves to a 4-day school week for the 2018-2019 school year. Grant(s) are intended to help launch a new program or venture, or that will substantially strengthen an existing program not currently funded by United Way. Grant(s) will be awarded to the program that can demonstrate a significant, measurable impact on the community.

United Way looks favorably upon strong strategic collaborations between nonprofit organizations. A strategic collaboration is a mutually beneficial and well defined relationship between two or more organizations to achieve a common goal. Strategic collaboration is more than providing referrals to other programs. A strong preference will be given to those programs that can demonstrate active and strong collaborative partnerships to achieve program goals. If granted funds, applicants will be required to outline roles and responsibilities of collaborating organizations in detail.

United Way Mental Health and Senior Services Grants:

Special grant funds made available by United Way of Pueblo County Board of Trustees to any nonprofit in Pueblo County meeting a critical community need not currently funded by United Way. Programs that qualify should address a pressing, unmet mental health or senior service need in Pueblo County.

Grant(s) are intended to focus on improving mental health or senior services for the citizens of Pueblo County. Grant(s) will be awarded to the program that can demonstrate a significant, measurable impact on the community.

Senior Services:

Grant(s) are intended as one year special program grants that focus on improving senior services for the citizens of Pueblo County. Grant(s) will be awarded to the program that can demonstrate a significant, measurable impact on the community.

Mental Health Services:

Grant(s) are intended as special program grants that focus on improving the mental health of the citizens of Pueblo County. Grant(s) will be awarded to the program that can demonstrate a significant, measurable impact on the community.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Community Impact: Grants range from $10,000 to $70,000.

Senior Services: Amount of Awards: Range of $5,000 to $26,000; smaller grants will be paid in full upon approval; larger grants will be paid quarterly.

Mental Health Services: Amount of Awards: Range of $5,000 to $27,000; smaller grants will be paid in full upon approval; larger grants will be paid quarterly.

Term of Contract:

Senior Services grants are intended as one year special program grants.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Both current United Way partner agencies and any nonprofit agency with a 501(c)3 IRS designation may apply.

The following will not be funded: proposals to fund established programs already funded with United Way dollars, proposals to fund prior year deficits and projects directed by for-profit organizations.

Pre-Application Information:

Qualifying Community Impact proposals must demonstrate additional financial resources or support for this program.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, May 30, 2018, 12:00 PM, noon.

Finalists will be interviewed as part of the decision making process.

The award date is June 2018 (approximately).
