Grants of up to $5,000 to Colorado nonprofit organizations in eligible locations for programs that enhance the quality of life for local residents. Focus areas include youth, arts and culture, health and welfare, and education. Eligible applicants must be residents in and/or provide services in the Fort Collins area which also includes the Laporte, Wellington, Bellvue, and Timnath areas.

The RCFC Community Grants Committee looks for innovative projects and services that respond to community issues, address local needs, are available to the community as a whole or large segment in need, and will improve community members' lives. 

The Community Grants Committee will favor innovative projects that address local needs and contain an active volunteer service opportunity for RCFC members. Please provide detailed information about any volunteer activities related to the grant application project so that RCFC may consider the recruitment of Rotary Club of Fort Collins members as volunteers. Grants may be used for special projects or services that include capital items.

Limit grant requests to a maximum of $5,000. Community Grant awards typically range from $1,000 - $3,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
a. Organization must be a non-profit agency and hold an IRS 501(c)(3) designation.
b. Organizations must be residents in and provide services in the Fort Collins area which also includes Laporte, Wellington, Bellvue, and Timnath areas.
c. Project and services must address a local need, be available to the community as a whole, and/or target a specific segment of the community in need.
d. Project or service should be unique and innovative; grant may be used for capital items, and special projects or services. Note: Grant money will not be awarded to retire debt, for general operating expenses, to assist specific individuals, or to duplicate established projects in the community.
e. Special consideration will be given to applications that include an active volunteer service opportunity for RCFC members.
f. Organizations may apply in multiple Grant categories but may only receive one grant during the RCFC Fiscal Year (Jul–Jun). Organizations are encouraged to apply in the category that matches their primary mission statement or the primary purpose of their community service/project.
g. Organizations are not eligible to be considered for a Grant if they received an RCFC Grant during the previous 13 months.
h. Organizations are not eligible to be considered for a Grant if they are designated to receive money from other RCFC fundraising activities during the RCFC Fiscal Year (Jul-to-Jun) such as the Peach Festival.

Pre-Application Information:

For the fourth quarter of 2020, the category will be Health and Welfare Programs. Key dates: 1) RCFC will begin accepting applications on the day of the Press Release, September 28, 2020, and 2) Application due date is November 20, 2020, and 3) Grant awards will be made starting December 2020. Checks will be distributed following current COVID-19 protocols.

Completed applications for Health and Welfare Program Grants must be submitted in electronic pdf format by email by 5:00 p.m., on Friday, November 20, 2020.

The Rotary Club of Fort Collins awards Community Grants spread out throughout the year in four (4) categories: Arts & Culture, Youth Programs, Education Programs, and Health & Welfare. Non-profit service organizations may qualify for more than one category but are encouraged to apply in the category that matches their primary mission statement or the primary purpose of their service and/or project. One category will be announced by a press release, applications accepted and reviewed, and awardees selected each quarter. Following is the general schedule and a Press Release will be posted – Call for Grant Applications each quarter with application due dates each quarter. Application dates are subject to change and will be updated on the website.
