Request a Grant Writer

Matching grants to Colorado nonprofits in eligible locations for programs and projects that benefit local residents in the areas of environment, youth, and/or human services. Funding may be used for new programs or an expansion of services. Funding will be provided to support programs that further the nonprofit’s mission and may need a boost while the organization secures sustainable funding. Eligible organizations must serve La Plata County.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The organization must be a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization or be a project or organization under the fiscal agency of a 501(c)(3) organization.

The organization must support La Plata County efforts in youth, environment, or human services.

You do not have to be a client of the Payroll Department to be considered for the grant.

Previous Payroll Department matching fund grantees are not eligible to apply in 2021.

- Application will open March 24
- Application will close April 14
- Organizations will be announced the week of May 1
- Matching funds deadline is October 29

This grant requires a $7,000 match. For organizations to apply, they must be ready with a feasible, creative matching plan. Matching funds are to be solicited after the grant award in May and prior to the match deadline of October 29, 2021.
