Grants to Colorado nonprofit organizations and government agencies in eligible areas for marketing efforts that promote local tourism. Funding is intended to advertise and host special events and activities that encourage tourism, with an emphasis on promoting overnight lodging. Eligible applicants are located in Grand County, including Fraser Valley District (Winter Park, Fraser, and Tabernash), the Three Lakes District (Granby and Grand Lake), and the Mainsteam District (Hot Sulphur Springs, Parshall, and Kremmling). All events must be open to the general public.

Grantees and proposals must meet the following requirements:

  • Encourages overnight stays in Grand County by out-of-county visitors.
  • Encourages tourism in the off-season or low season.
  • Is unique or promotes the uniqueness of Grand County as a tourist destination.
  • Allows other tourism-related businesses and entities to participate in marketing and or events.
  • Is in keeping with the image of the county created by the overall marketing efforts of the GCCTB.
  • Maintain adequate workers' compensation insurance.

Term of Contract:

Recurring events will generally receive funding for a maximum of three consecutive years.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grant requests must be submitted by a government-recognized nonprofit and/or tax-exempt entity.

Marketing Grant Requests are for nonprofit organizations that are established and proven marketing entities within the county formed for advertising and marketing tourism.

Special Events Grant Requests are for events that are hosted within Grand County and its municipalities.

Funds distributed through GCCTB may not be used to pay for salaries or capital equipment.

Members and their families of the Grand County Colorado Tourism Board and the County Commissioners of Grand County are ineligible to submit requests for funding on behalf of any organization.

Pre-Application Information:

Grant submission deadlines are as follows:
- 1st Quarter 2020 (past): December 13, 2019
- 2nd Quarter 2020 (past): March 15, 2020
- 3rd Quarter 2020: August 10, 2020
- 4th Quarter 2020: October 1, 2020
- 1st Quarter 2021: December 15, 2020

Grant submissions must be received by 11:59 PM (MST) on the quarter due dates noted above. Any grant submissions received after the quarter due date will be considered in the following quarter.

In order for an organization to qualify for grant funding, applicants must submit a completed GCCTB grant request form and supporting documents.

In addition to the request form, the organization is encouraged to present the grant request to the corresponding district, as well. These meetings will be set up by Lindsey Morrow, the Director of GCCTB, via Zoom.

Contributions from GCCTB funds may not constitute more than half of the funding for a special event.
