Scholarships to USA educators, school psychologists, and school counselors to participate in a professional development program. Applications are invited from professionals who are new to the field and are committed to helping gifted children from diverse backgrounds. Eligible applicants work in Title I schools. Educators from culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.
The primary purpose of the Javits-Frasier Scholarship Fund for Diverse Talent Development is to increase culturally and linguistically diverse students’ access to talent development opportunities through educator training and support related to equity and excellence in gifted education. Scholarship recipients will also serve in the critical role of being catalysts for change in the attitudes and perceptions some educators have historically held which have impeded the full development of potential in culturally and linguistically diverse students.
This scholarship program seeks to identify passionate, innovative teachers and counselors in communities across the country where students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds are historically underrepresented in gifted programs. Criteria to determine recipients includes:
