Lois Webster Fund (LWF)

Denver Audubon (DA)

Grant Provider's 990

Agency: Foundation

GrantWatch ID #144874

Grant Description

Grants to Colorado nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and academic institutions for collaborative education, conservation, and research projects to preserve the state's non-game wildlife. Funding is intended to promote the conservation of local wildlife species and their habitats.

It should be noted that The LWF will consider projects focused on any of the state’s non-game wildlife – i.e., any of the approximately 750 species of wildlife that cannot be hunted, fished or trapped - or the habitat on which they depend in Colorado.
The LWF intends to serve as a catalyst for and to partner with other organizations (conservation organizations, other nonprofit organizations, government agencies, academic institutions/schools, businesses and others) promoting Colorado wildlife research, conservation, and education projects. Projects with multiple partners are preferred. The LWF expects that most projects will focus predominantly on either research or education, but is particularly interested in proposals that include some elements of both and lead to conservation outcomes.
What Does The Lois Webster Fund Do?
  • Inform about techniques for enhancing habitats and populations for non-game wildlife
  • Enable researchers to find answers to interesting questions important for conservation
  • Engage learners of all ages in research and education about Colorado’s native species
